Planning for retirement has many stages:
It’s never too early . . . we know one young woman who began putting money into her IRA in high school, and we expect to see her retire with financial confidence at an early age!
Mid-life expenses – do it anyway! This is the time when many families are pulled in different directions, with college, weddings, house improvements, and big ticket items all making financial demands. It’s important to make your retirement a consistent priority too!
Playing catch-up - better late than never . . . even if you’ve started late, it’s easier with financial advice. How do you know when you have enough?
Dotting your I’s and crossing your T’s, all that paper . . . do you have a trust? What type? Will/s? Healthcare documents? Insurance?
The times, they are a-changing . . . in these volatile times, it becomes even more important to take charge of your future. We believe you will end up wealthier and more self-confident. What can you do to plan for market volatility?
Questions to ask yourself: am I saving enough for retirement? Do I know how much I’ll need to retire? Are my retirement assets invested in the most beneficial ways to help me achieve my goals?
Should I stay or should I roll? When is it a good idea to roll my assets from a 401(k) into an IRA? What are the factors I should look at in making this decision?
Have I protected against the five main retirement risks: inflation, longevity, market volatility, excess withdrawals, and healthcare costs?
Am I talking (with my spouse) about my/our vision of retirement? Where do I/we want to retire? When do I/we want to retire? How will I/we approach and manage getting older?
What kinds of relationships, both personal and financial, do I want to have with close family members in later life? Will I/we need to help my/our parents?
Do I fully understand the potential pitfalls of estate planning and taxation?
What will my/our Legacy be? How will I be remembered? By example, by teaching others, by direct help to others? How can my estate be used to establish my/our Legacy?
